This is a list with accommodation in the countries that we have visited. We have given them grades from 1 to 5 (1=bad, not recommended, 5= excellent value for the price). All the prices are per double room:

Nepal

  • Kathmandu: Sugat Hotel (550 NPR) (3)
  • Pokhara: Karma Guesthouse (12 USD) (4)
  • Bhaktapur: Golden Gate Hotel (18 USD) (4)
  • Patan: Newa Chen Traditional Newari House (30 USD) (5)

Spacious rooms,, good facilities and location and good price make Karma Guesthouse a good deal (btw, the Danish flag is just a coincidence!)

The rooms are very basic, but the location and the sunny rooftop terrace of the Hotel Sugat are unbeatable

The places in the mountain were really basic, the rooms consisting of just the beds and the common bathroom usually with cold shower. The prices varied from 0 to 400 NPR depending on agreement for the meals eaten in the hotel since most hotels make most money on the meals served to trekkers. The grades are given according to common areas, hygiene and location:
